Joy and Fun – Welcoming Spring :)
It has been 6 months since we started the pregnancy journey. With me, a lot of things happened in parallel – my job, moving into our new home, the little one kicking mommy, and moving to the suburbs. It has taken time for me to adjust and accept all of these changes into my life. 6 months and I still feel like I am learning everyday! My job and my colleagues have been wonderful in accommodating my situation and that has been of great help to me in the recent days. I started working from home more often and it has been a blessing. 2 hours of commute one way to work is definitely not convenient for a mom-to-be. My doctor says it is OK to commute since we live in the city and there is nothing we can do about it. I found my health deteriorating because of the commute and I was hardly able to focus my attention to the growing baby.
I still feel tired end of the day, but I am saving on 4 hours of commute time, which gives me more time to rest and relax and deal with my never-ending morning sickness. And the bonus – I am able to give 30 to 40 minutes a day to take in some fresh air outside – go for a walk, breathe in the beauty of upcoming Spring with cherry blossoms around the streets and feeling mesmerized about the fresh blooms everywhere. Gives me the much needed peace of mind. I am able to work for 8 hours or more sometimes depending on my energy levels that day and then unwind in the evenings with the stroll.
I don’t prefer commuting to any place these days because of the nausea and dizziness – so it is Home Sweet Home for me. The new home is helping a lot with all of this. And what is more exciting — I get to pick up a paint brush almost every evening giving me the much needed fun time. Being pregnant, I don’t spend time working on huge projects, I work on a tiny scale with just watercolors and doodles – and it has been enjoyable. I start painting soon after dinner and that gives me about 30 minutes to an hour to work with the magical colors.
I feel like recently I have this new-gained spirit to start the day and feel refreshed and happy end of the day. I can focus on my little one kicking and moving around in his little home, and it is the most joyous part of the entire day for me. The more I relax, the better I feel about things around me.
I am sharing some of my recent work from my evening painting hours here for you to enjoy.
