Happy New Year!
A while since I posted here!!! I started this blog with the intent of updating it every week, but never been able to stick to it. I have had a lot going on in my life and it has all been overwhelming. Before I jump ahead, I wish you a Happy Happy New Year. Let the new year be fruitful and positive for you.
My last post was talking about Django, technical, totally! Around that time I was rigorously looking for jobs given my graduation in early August 2015.
I had a super awesome interview with Sapient – I think they judge a person based on long term goals and not for a short term assignment, which is in my opinion the right way to hire an employee. I enjoyed the process and the people here are so good! I have been at atleast 4 different companies so far, and I think Sapient has the best people around – everyone here understands and cares. The norm is to get the work done, and they are not worried about silly work rules that most other companies have (like strict hours at the office, come in by 9 and leave by 6 or later, etc.) So I work for Sapient now, and I am learning! Oh, and I work in Java technology now – vigorously refreshing my knowledge in Java while not forgetting Python.
Sapient being the first big change, let me jump to my second – I am now a mother-to-be. I was anxiously waiting for 3.5 months before I announced to the world about my pregnancy. Shankar is super-thrilled and we keep wondering as to how are lives are going to change in just a few months. Pregnancy has its ups and downs. Mine started slow and I am now going through a crazy phase of nausea /morning sickness. While most women feel better in their second trimester, mine still has not changed. I am juggling work and other things amidst morning sickness. But you could forget it all as you feel the little one kicking from inside, keeping mommy alive! Worth the universe and beyond!
Now that I have broken the big news, the third big news is that we moved from the city to the suburbs. Buying a house and making it a home is no easy job. Besides the huge money involved, it takes forever to decide everything for the house. Our home is finally taking some shape. We had a traditional ceremony conducted by the priest following by a quick lunch party when we invited close friends over. And this is when we also announced the big news of us expecting a baby!
Everything happened so fast and I am still trying to get a hang of it! I am still accommodating my schedules to commute to work from our new house and dealing with pregnancy and the long commute. Work has been accommodating so far given it was the holiday season and it was perfect for the move. Things are slowly settling down and falling in place and I thought this is the perfect time for me to write! I am sharing a few pictures from the house warming event.
So my new year started with exciting news! How did yours go?
